It is reported that TSMC will make price concessions for mature processes next year.

CTOnews.com, November 27, Taiwan's Economic Daily reported today that TSMC will resume price concessions for some mature processes next year after an interval of three years, with a price range of about 2%.

Another IC designer revealed that the concession method offered by TSMC is to use the opening mask fee for the next quarter as a credit after the completion of a full season of production.

According to the latest results announcement, TSMC's consolidated revenue in October was about NT $243.203 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 54.964 billion yuan), an increase of 34.8% over the previous month and 15.7% over the same period last year.

Cumulative revenue from January to October 2023 was about NT $1.77941 trillion (currently about 402.147 billion yuan), down 3.7 per cent from the same period last year.

TSMC's revenue in the third quarter was 546.73 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 123.561 billion yuan), down 10.8 percent from a year earlier, up 13.7 percent from a month earlier, and its net profit in the third quarter was 210.8 billion New Taiwan dollars (currently about 47.641 billion yuan), down 25.0 percent from a year earlier and up 16.0 percent from a month earlier.

TSMC is accelerating towards 2nm. According to MoneyDJ, the TSMC plant in Hsinchu Baoshan is expected to start installing equipment in the second quarter of 2024 and mass production in the fourth quarter of 2025, with an initial monthly production of about 30,000 wafers.
