CTOnews.com, Nov. 28 (Xinhua)-- Amazon today unveiled a WorkSpaces thin client mini PC, which claims to be the size of an Amazon Fire TV Cube set-top box, connects to peripherals such as keys and mice, and connects to another monitor through a specific Hub.

The standard version is priced at $195 (currently about 1396 yuan) and the version with Hub is priced at $280 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 2005 yuan).

▲ source Amazon officials stressed that the price of the device in the United States is much lower than the "cost of buying a separate laptop" and is suitable for mixed work and remote desktops. In addition, because the working environment of the WorkSpaces mini PC is centrally managed by administrators, it can greatly reduce the workload on the site and further save costs. At the same time, this device has a simpler structure and fewer parts than a laptop, so it has a lower probability of failure.

Amazon also claims that the WorkSpaces mini PC can be set up in five minutes, but the device will initially support only Amazon's own services, including AWS WorkSpaces streaming virtual desktop platform, AWS WorkSpaces Web remote browser and AWS AppStream apps.
