CTOnews.com, December 1, according to MacRumors, a foreign technology media, all four models of the iPhone 16 to be launched by Apple next year are equipped with operation buttons.

It is reported that Apple began to design and plan operation buttons as early as 2021, and Apple plans to launch tactile volume and power buttons at the same time.

In the iPhone 16 series, which will be launched next year, Apple plans to change the operation button from a mechanical button to a capacitive button and expand to provide more functions.

Apple's internal improved operation button project is codenamed "Atlas" and the button features are similar to the Touch ID Home button on the old iPhone model or the Force Touch trackpad on the newer MacBook.

According to the disclosed internal documents, the updated operation button will be equipped with a "force sensor" that can achieve different interactive functions by detecting different pressures, but the specific changes are not yet clear.

The source also confirmed that the basic design and prototype of Apple's iPhone 16 are equipped with operation buttons, indicating that the whole system will have standard operation buttons next year.

Apple has also tried different sizes of action buttons, some prototypes of which are larger than those currently available on the iPhone 15 Pro and are closer to volume buttons in size.
