Hong Kong Special Administrative region of China and Thailand announce the launch of Cross-border QR Code payment Internet Service

CTOnews.com, December 4, according to the official of the Hong Kong Special Administrative region Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Hong Kong Special Administrative region HKMA and the Central Bank of Thailand today announced the launch of the fast speed × PromptPay cross-border QR code payment interconnection between the two places, which will provide convenient and safe cross-border retail payment services for tourists who visit each other between the two places.

According to reports, visitors from the Hong Kong Special Administrative region and Thailand can then use their own mobile payment App to scan the "fast" QR code of Hong Kong merchants and the "PromptPay" QR code of Thai merchants for retail payment. This will add a convenient payment option for users, and merchants will be able to receive the relevant payment immediately.

The HKMA said that the implementation of the arrangement would add a safer, more efficient and cost-effective retail payment option for the general public, and would also promote more financial innovation cooperation in this dynamic region in the future.
