China officially launched the commercial use of 5G in 2019; at the beginning of 2020, the country put forward the concept of "new infrastructure". As the first and an important part of the "new infrastructure", 5G has developed rapidly since then. As early as 2020, we put forward the idea of "enabling 5G+AI to do all kinds of things". Therefore, during the third Expo in 2020, we joined hands with many Chinese partners to showcase various terminals empowered by 5G and AI, as well as innovative applications that combine 5G with AI, such as the Pombert table tennis robot training system based on Qualcomm robot platform, various XR equipment and so on.

At the Mobile World Congress held at the end of February this year, Qualcomm showed a terminal-side demonstration of the world's first generative AI model running on an Android phone, supporting more than 1 billion parameters, performing 20-step reasoning in 15 seconds, converting the input text into an image and displaying it immediately, fully highlighting the support provided by computing power and new technologies for terminal-side generative AI.
Qualcomm also demonstrated at the China International supply chain Promotion Expo recently held in Beijing. We ran Stable Diffusion on the latest flagship terminal carrying the third-generation Snapdragon 8 and entered the description of "the Great Wall of China covered with snow", which took only 0.6 seconds to generate the corresponding image. In less than a year, with the upgrade and optimization of hardware and software, generative AI has been well applied in the terminal side. We believe that the model with higher parameters can be supported on the terminal side next year, no matter whether you need text to generate pictures or video, all kinds of applications can be realized. Terminal-side AI is very important.
