CTOnews.com, December 7 (Xinhua)-- HBO announced that the second season of "the Last Survivor" will premiere in 2025. A new trailer released by Warner's streaming platform Max confirms this date and shows its 2024 program lineup.

CTOnews.com noted that producer Craig Mazin had previously revealed that production of the second season of Last Survivor would begin on February 12, 2024, later than originally planned because of strikes by the Writers' Union of America and the screen Actors Guild of America. Despite the delays, work on the second season is still in progress, the script outline has been prepared, and the script for the first episode was submitted before the strike.

The second season of Last Survivor is likely to be adapted from the video game Last Survivor 2, which will be remade for PlayStation 5 on January 19, 2024. Bella Ramsey (Ellie) and Pedro Pascal (Joel) will return, while Abby Anderson's role is said to have been chosen, but it is not known who will play the role.

In addition to "the Last Survivor," the trailer, which shows the second season of Game of Thrones spin-off "the Family of Dragons," was first released earlier this month and will be released next summer.
