After abandoning leather goods, Apple was named "Animal Ethical treatment Award" by PETA as the company of the year.
CTOnews.com, December 12 (Xinhua)-- PETA recently posted a blog post endorsing Apple's move to abandon leather this year, awarding the Ethical treatment of Animals Award (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) for company of the year.
PETA said in the blog post
Apple decided to say "adIOS" to leather goods, saving countless animals and helping to mitigate climate disasters.
Apple offers leather-free finely woven twill accessories to encourage compassionate consumers to buy environmentally friendly products.
CTOnews.com Note: PETA (PETA) is a radical group founded by Ms. Ingrid Newkirk in 1980. Influenced by the consciousness of animal liberation in the late 1970s, she believed that animals should have equal rights to live with human beings, so PETA adhered to the principle that "animals are not for us to eat, wear, experiment, or abuse in any way" and is a defender of animal rights.
Since its establishment more than 30 years ago, PETA has developed rapidly, claiming to have more than 6 million members and supporters, and is already the largest radical animal protection organization in the world. It has branches in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Australia and other countries, and established the Organization for the treatment of Animals Asia (PETA Asia) in Hong Kong in 2005.
