According to news from CTOnews.com on December 15, the State Post Bureau announced the operation of the postal industry from January to November 2023, with a total of 146.31 billion pieces of mailing and delivery business, an increase of 15.8% over the same period last year. Among them, express delivery business (excluding postal group parcel business) completed a total of 118.82 billion pieces, an increase of 18.6% over the same period last year.

From January to November, the volume of express delivery in the same city totaled 12.24 billion, up 4.8 percent over the same period last year; 103.83 billion in other places, up 19.7 percent; and 2.75 billion in international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, an increase of 54.1 percent over the same period last year.

From January to November, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal savings Bank) totaled 1.38442 trillion yuan, an increase of 12.7% over the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business totaled 1.08852 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.7% over the same period last year.

In November, the mail and delivery business of the postal industry completed 16.58 billion pieces, an increase of 29.7% over the same period last year. Of this total, the volume of express delivery completed 13.64 billion pieces, an increase of 31.9% over the same period last year.

In November, the business revenue of the postal industry reached 149.27 billion yuan, an increase of 24.4% over the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business reached 124.14 billion yuan, an increase of 26.9% over the same period last year.

From January to November, the volume of express delivery in the same city, other places, and international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 10.3%, 87.4% and 2.3% of the total express business respectively, and business revenue accounted for 5.9%, 49.8% and 11.5% of the total express revenue, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business in the same city decreased by 1.3 percentage points, that of other places increased by 0.8 percentage points, and that of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business increased by 0.5 percentage points.

From January to November, the proportion of express business volume in the eastern, central and western regions was 75.3%, 16.7% and 8.0% respectively, and the proportion of business income was 76.2%, 14.1% and 9.7%, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business volume and revenue in the eastern region decreased by 1.6% and 1.4% respectively, while that in the central region increased by 1.0% and 0.7%, respectively. In the western region, the proportion of express business volume increased by 0.6%, and that of express business income increased by 0.7%.

From January to November, the brand concentration index of express delivery and parcel service (CR8) was 84.0, which was 0.1 lower than that from January to October.
