Among them, the open source system represented by openEuler is going international and has made a substantial breakthrough in globalization.

On December 15, the operating system Conference 2023, with the theme of "rising the Digital Age, leading the Future of Mathematical Intelligence", was held at the Beijing National Convention Center. The conference is jointly sponsored by the Open Atomic Open Source Foundation, the China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization, the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center and the China Software Industry Association, and aims to bring together the innovative forces of the global industry, build a solid foundation for basic software, promote continuous innovation in basic software technology, and jointly build a new global open source ecology.

Euler, an operating system independently developed by Huawei for server and other digital infrastructure, has grown into the number one server operating system in China. According to the IDC report, openEuler ranks first in the market share of server operating systems in China in 2023, reaching 36.8%. Two years ago, Huawei formally donated the Euler open source operating system to the Open Atomic Open Source Foundation to fully open the source code to promote the development of the global open source ecology.

Ni Guangnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that the experience of "Euler" fully proves that as long as Chinese developers work together, they will be able to create a world-class open source community. Call on the industry to join hands to promote open source Euler to become the first open source community with world influence led by the Chinese industry.

From a technical point of view, it is the right time for Euler to launch a global layout. China is entering a new stage of open source innovation, from participation to leadership. The rising open source industry needs a strong open source innovation platform to build a new generation of distributed, intelligent and international open source innovation platform for the future. Euler has seized the opportunity of industrial development with its ecological intercommunication and capacity sharing of "covering multiple devices and supporting the whole scene". Over the past year, Euler accelerated its iterative growth overseas, and now it has been widely supported and applied around the world, involving cloud computing, edge computing, embedded devices and other fields.

In terms of technological ecology, Euler has worked deeply with the international mainstream foundation to support 98% of the world's mainstream open source software. As the CI operating system in dozens of open source communities, such as cloud native, big data, storage, database, HPC, etc., Euler has achieved upstream native support, which can be used right out of the box. Euler is deeply involved in the formulation and promotion of global mainstream software supply chain security standards and specifications such as OpenChain and OpenSSF, taking the lead in passing the OpenChain ISO 5230 open source software protocol certification, and the community infrastructure meets the OpenSSF SLSA L3 standard.

It is reported that Euler also cooperates with global mainstream communities and organizations to meet the localization requirements of various regions around the world and standardize the international governance of the Euler open source community. The openEuler open source community has carried out in-depth cooperation with nine overseas head open source foundations to provide services to more than 150 countries and regions and build a new global open source ecology. Work with the overseas head Foundation to accelerate Euler's integration into the global open source system, attract overseas projects and financial donations, and attract overseas developers to contribute to the development of China's open source cause.

Four years of open source, openEuler open source community has attracted 1300 leading companies to join, Intel and other international mainstream server giants have also joined the community, core open source contributors more than 16800, set up more than 100 special interest groups (SIG); global version of the download volume of more than 1 million, covering more than 130 countries, thousands of overseas developers, equivalent to the international mainstream open source community.
