CTOnews.com, December 18 (Xinhua)-- Samsung is about to launch a Galaxy A55 phone, which will be equipped with an Exynos S5E8845 chipset, probably Exynos 1480, because the Exynos 1380 and 1280 models are S5E8835 and S5E8825, respectively, for Galaxy A54 and A53, respectively.

Recently, a suspected GeekBench running score of Exynos 1480 appeared online, and the chip may be running on a test platform. The score of single-core CPU performance test is 1180 and that of multi-core CPU performance test is 3536. In contrast, the score of Galaxy A54 is 1108 and 2797 respectively, and the performance improvement of Exynos 1480 is still quite obvious.

According to previous rumors, the Exynos 1480 is an eight-core chipset with four high-performance CPU cores with up to 2.75GHz and four efficient cores up to 2.05GHz. More interestingly, the chip is said to use the AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 530GPU, which should be much more powerful than the Malu GPU in the previous Exynos chip and may even provide ray tracing in the game. However, this is still a guess.

As for the upcoming Galaxy A55, some renderings of the machine have also been released recently, showing the familiar design, but with some improvements. CTOnews.com notes that the new machine seems to have a right-angled frame design. It is understood that the Galaxy A55 will be equipped with a 6.5in, FullHD+, 120Hz OLED display, as well as a 50MP main camera to support 25W fast charging.
