Apple releases new firmware 6A317 for AirPods 3

CTOnews.com, December 20, Apple today released a new firmware update for the third-generation AirPods. The new firmware version is 6A317, which is higher than the 6A300 firmware launched in September.

Apple does not provide updates to the new firmware, nor does it provide instructions on how to upgrade the AirPods firmware, but the firmware is usually installed wirelessly when the AirPods is connected to the iOS device. Placing the AirPods in the charging box, connecting it to the power supply, and pairing the AirPods with the iOS device or Mac forces the update.

You can check the AirPods or AirPods Pro firmware version by following these steps:

Connect the AirPods Pro to the iOS device.

Open the Settings application.

Click General.

Click about.

Click AirPods.

Check the number next to firmware version.
