Headline: Fandi's new AmpliFi alien router has Wi-Fi 6 and a touchscreen for $379,
Ubisoft announced the launch of AmpliFi Alien, the first Wi-Fi 6 router. The tri-band router supports the latest Wi-Fi 802.11ax standard, with four gigabit LAN ports and a WAN port for receiving Internet connections on the back. You can also pair multiple units together to create a mesh network. The router costs $379and can be purchased from AmpliFi.com.
Although its name is "Alien", the design of this router is underestimated compared to most other Wi-Fi 6 routers on the market, and many end up looking like sci-fi robot spiders. However, Fandi's router does have a pair of design styles: a small touch screen on the front that displays time, date, and connection information. When the router is configured, the LED light at the bottom lights up.
The price of the AmpliFi Alien is $379, similar to that of many other early Wi-Fi 6 routers released this year. The 6 Velop price for Linksys wireless network connectivity announced at the end of October starts at $399 per router. Netgear's Wi-Fi 6 Orbi is more expensive, at $699.99, but it offers two packages, including a router and a satellite. These three options are still a lot of money for Wi-Fi, but they are the current price of a future-oriented network for the next generation of Wi-Fi 6 devices.
