According to revelations, Google's new file system allows you to play Android games before they are fully downloaded. In this day and age, with the improvement of graphics performance, smartphones can cope with more work and play, we can play more and more games on Android phones, and the Android game market is still growing.

However, large games sometimes take some time to download, and it can be disturbing and frustrating if you just want to quickly test a new game, or if you don't have enough time to wait for the game to be fully downloaded for play. Google is developing a new file system, called an incremental file system, that will allow games to be started before all data is downloaded to the device.

We can read the definition of the new feature in the Google document on LWN.net. The incremental file system is "a dedicated Linux virtual file system that allows program execution while delaying downloading its binaries and resource files over the network, USB, etc." This means that when you start any large Android application, you only need to download some content, and you can continue to download the rest of the data after the application starts.

Unfortunately, it also mentions that sometimes some important data block has not yet been loaded and the application may have to wait, which means that the user may encounter some type of load pause. However, the data will be loaded into the elimination hotblock (hot blocks) of important information, so this rarely happens, and the application runs smoothly.

XDA developers say this feature may not appear on Android 11 and is most likely to be implemented no earlier than Android 12 in 2021.
