Before the release, data analyst Omdia said Samsung would ship 1100 Galaxy Z Fold 4 / Filp 4 folding screen phones by the end of the year. Although the shipment is more than 50 per cent higher than last year's Galaxy Z Fold 3 / Filp 3 shipments, it still falls short of Samsung's internal target of 15 million units.

In addition, Omdia said that if more than 10 million Galaxy Z Fold 4 / Filp 4 folding screen phones are shipped, it means that Samsung has successfully filled the market left by Samsung's Note series with folding screen phones.

Currently, Samsung itself has Galaxy Z Fold 3 / Filp 3 and other folding screen products on sale. Omdia expects that with these folding screen products, Samsung will ship 13 million folding screen phones by the end of this year.
