CTOnews.com August 20 news, yesterday, the National Energy Administration released the January-July national power industry statistics.

According to the National Energy Administration, as of the end of July, the country's installed power generation capacity was about 2.46 billion kilowatts, an increase of 8.0 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, the installed capacity of wind power is about 340 million kilowatts, an increase of 17.2 percent over the same period last year, and the installed capacity of solar power is about 340 million kilowatts, an increase of 26.7 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that from January to July, the cumulative average utilization of power generation equipment nationwide was 2132 hours, 84 hours less than the same period last year. Of this total, thermal power was 2476 hours, down 118 hours from the same period last year; nuclear power was 4340 hours, 192 hours less than the same period last year; and wind power was 1304 hours, 68 hours less than the same period last year.

From January to July, the country's major power generation enterprises completed an investment of 260 billion yuan in power supply projects, an increase of 16.8 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, solar power generation was 77.3 billion yuan, an increase of 304.0% over the same period last year. The investment in the power grid project was 223.9 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year.
