CTOnews.com, Aug. 22, it is reported that some Apple employees are petitioning against the company's plan to require employees to return to the office three days a week starting in September.

Earlier this month, Apple informed employees that they must return to the office three days a week starting in early September. The new plan will require employees to arrive at the office on Tuesdays, Thursdays and other third days of the week, depending on the team.

According to the Financial Times, more and more Apple employees are not satisfied with the new plan, but advocate "flexible location work". The report cites a petition made up of the Apple Together organization, which is being circulated and signed around Apple. CTOnews.com has learned that Apple has been eager to put employees back to work for some time. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, once said that "face-to-face collaboration is vital to our culture". Apple has always placed great emphasis on live meetings and presentations, and employees are required to be present to develop and sell hardware.

Apple Together retorts that the "unified mandate of senior leaders" does not respect "many compelling reasons" for why some employees are "happier and more efficient" outside traditional office arrangements.

The group asked Apple to allow employees to decide work arrangements with their "immediate managers" and that they should not be required to "high-level approval" and "complex procedures" or restrictions that must provide private information.

Apple "should encourage, not ban, flexible work" to make employees "feel comfortable and think differently together," the petition said. " Apple's current plan is for employees to return to offline offices three days a week, starting on Sept. 5.
