CTOnews.com August 24 news, today, IDC released a report that China's print peripherals market shipped 4.841 million units in the second quarter of 2022, an increase of 1.0 percent year on year and 22.3 percent month on month.

Of this total, shipments of inkjet printers were 2.139 million, up 13.9 percent over the same period last year; laser printers were 2.302 million, down 3.0 percent; and needle printers were 400000, down 26.5 percent from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that IDC believes that although the printer market performed much better than expected in the second quarter, it will still face the pressure of repeated epidemics and slow economic recovery in the second half of the year, and there are still many uncertainties in demand and supply.

The report points out that at present, first-time buyers still account for a large proportion, so low-cost ink cartridge printers are still very attractive to users. And relying on good supply, shipments of ink cartridge printers increased significantly, up 48.9% from the same period last year. The supply of ink cartridge printers has not yet fully recovered, with shipments down 18.4% from the same period last year. In addition, starting from 2021, various manufacturers have raised the price of laser printer products, so the share of laser printers in the consumer market has declined.
