CTOnews.com learned that the WebP format was first promoted by Google with the extension "* .webp". Because the file size is smaller than the JPG format, it can effectively speed up the display of the website. Starting from Ubuntu 22.10, the WebP image format will be supported by default, but this version is not supported for a long time, so if you are not trying to taste it, you can wait until the next LTS to experience it.

The latest long-term support version is Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, which provides five years of support for Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, Ubuntu Cloud, and Ubuntu Core, that is, until April 2027.
