American cinemas jointly offer discounted movie tickets: no matter what you see, it's all $3.

CTOnews.com, August 29 (Xinhua)-- the Film Foundation of the American Cinema owners Association has announced that September 3 will be designated as "National Film Day", offering discounted tickets of $3 on that day, covering more than 3000 cinemas in the United States, including AMC.

The home page of the site clearly says, "all $3, regardless of movie, time period, and playback format." However, the national film day ticket price does not include taxes or online and / or third-party ticketing fees.

Jackie Brenneman, president of the American Film Foundation, said: "after a record-breaking return to the cinema this summer, we want to do something to celebrate this moment. We do this to thank the moviegoers this summer and to provide something more attractive to those who have not yet come back."

CTOnews.com learned that offline box office receipts at cinemas have fallen due to the impact of COVID-19 's epidemic and the development of streaming media, and even Cineworld, the world's second-largest cinema operator, is considering filing for bankruptcy in the United States.

On the other hand, the latest data show that the streaming platform led by Netflix surpassed the cable network for the first time in July 2022, accounting for the largest share of US television ratings that month.
