In order to save energy, almost all Samsung household appliances will support Wi-Fi in the future.

CTOnews.com August 29, ahead of the IFA 2022 event, Samsung revealed plans for its upcoming home appliances and SmartThings platform. JaeSeung Lee, head of digital appliances at Samsung Electronics, wrote an editorial revealing how the company strives to become the most energy-efficient home appliance brand in the world.

JaeSeung Lee said in the article that users "have become more aware of the impact of their choices on the environment and have practiced eco-conscious activities in their daily lives to make up for their deficiencies." Therefore, in order to meet the needs of consumers, the company plans to make its home appliances more customizable, sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Almost all future Samsung household appliances of ▲ will support Wi-Fi and SmartThings functions.

Samsung's line of Bespoke home appliances has been listed in more than 50 markets around the world, and the company plans to expand it to more countries this year. Samsung also plans to introduce SmartThings Energy into almost all of its future home appliances by making it Wi-Fi. SmartThings Energy monitors the energy consumption of all compatible household appliances and devices and uses AI (artificial Intelligence) to monitor and improve energy efficiency.

CTOnews.com learned that earlier this year, Samsung partnered with clothing brand Patagonia to reduce the release of microplastics from washing machines and water purifiers. Samsung is also working with Qcells and SMA Solar Technologies to create a "net zero home" model that creates and stores energy, effectively powers itself, and reduces carbon emissions. The company will reveal more about its future plans at the 2022 IFA show.
