CTOnews.com August 29 news, Three Gorges Group official announced, August 28, Three Gorges Group's first hydrogen production project_Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Ordos City Zhungeer Banner Narisong photovoltaic hydrogen production industry demonstration project officially started construction. The project is expected to achieve grid-connection of power plants and hydrogen output within the year.

Han Leiyan, deputy director of the Three Gorges Energy Science and Technology Digitalization Department, said that this is their first project in the field of hydrogen energy, dedicated to the research and development of key technologies such as hydrogen energy production, storage and application.

After completion, 20% of the total power generation capacity of the project will be directly transmitted to the local power grid, and the remaining 80% will be used for electrolyzing water to produce hydrogen. The hydrogen and oxygen produced will be mainly used in the chemical industry and transportation fields.

According to reports, the project includes two parts: photovoltaic power station and hydrogen production plant, of which the total installed capacity of photovoltaic power station is 400 MW and the annual average power generation capacity is 740 million kilowatt hours.

In addition, the total installed capacity of its hydrogen production plant is 75 MW, including 15 alkaline electrolyzers of 1000 standard square meters per hour and one standby alkaline electrolyzer of 1000 standard square meters per hour. The annual utilization hours of production are 8000 hours, and the annual production of hydrogen is about 10,000 tons and the by-product oxygen is 85,000 tons.
