China's first cross-sea high-speed railway will be completed with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and Fuzhou and Xiamen will achieve a "one-hour life circle".

CTOnews.com, August 30 (Xinhua)-- China's first cross-sea high-speed railway, the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway, was laid and completed this morning, Xinhua reported.

The Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway is expected to operate in the second half of 2023. After the completion and opening of traffic, Fuzhou and Xiamen will achieve an "one-hour life circle", and Xiamen, Quanzhou and Zhangzhou Minnan "Golden Triangle" will form a "half-hour traffic circle".

CTOnews.com learned that the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed rail line, which runs from Fuzhou in the north to Xiamen and Zhangzhou in the south, is 277.42 kilometers long and has a design speed of 350km per hour. There are eight stations in Fuzhou, Fuqing West, Putian, Quangang, East Quanzhou, Quanzhou South, Xiamen North and Zhangzhou.

As an important part of the coastal passageway in China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network, the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway has a total of 85 bridges and 33 tunnels, one after another across Meizhou Bay, Quanzhou Bay and an Bay. At the same time, as an important extension of the Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed railway, the Fuzhou-Xiamen high-speed railway will accelerate the integration of Fujian into the national high-speed railway network.
