Meituan takeout will display "expected meal time" and distribute the hardware "dining treasure" to merchants free of charge.

CTOnews.com, September 1, Meituan officially announced that it will improve the transparency of dining information and gradually distribute free hardware "dining treasures" to businesses across the country. Merchants only need to scan the equipment with a QR code to synchronize the dining status to riders and users.

Before arriving at the store, the rider can check the "recommended arrival time" on the delivery App, plan the pick-up time and route in advance to avoid arriving early, and the rider will also receive a push after reporting the meal in the restaurant; after arriving at the store, if the rider finds that the waiting time is too long, he can report the abnormal situation to get a supplementary time or rescheduling, so as to avoid the continuous overtime of subsequent orders.

Before placing an order, the user can check the "expected meal time" on the restaurant details page. After placing the order, when the merchant reports the meal information, the user can also check the meal status in real time on the delivery map of the order details.

At the same time, in the pilot projects in Beijing and other places, the calculation of the estimated delivery time of the order will also include factors such as the actual meal time into the reference range to help users establish a more accurate expectation of the delivery time. During the pilot period, the rate of customer complaints about business dining decreased by 38% compared with the same period last year, and the rate of poor comments on riders also dropped significantly.

CTOnews.com learned that Meituan expressed the hope that by promoting the openness and transparency of serving information among merchants, riders and users, "merchants report in time, riders pick up immediately, and users know it."
