Microsoft Win11 22H2 Moment update (Build 22940) exposed, may bring tab file explorer

CTOnews.com, September 5 (Xinhua)-- according to previous Windows Central sources, Microsoft now plans to release a major version of Windows every three years, and starting with Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2), Microsoft will also launch a new "Moments" project to release new features to Windows versions on the market every few months, up to four times a year.

According to information found by Windows whistleblower Albacore, Build 22940 appears in PowerShell's open source files, which is expected to belong to the next large version of Windows 11 22H2 Moment updated version number.

It was also revealed that the Windows 11 22H2 Moment update will come in October and the Moment 2 update will come next year. Each major update brings some new features, including tab file explorer.

CTOnews.com learned that it had been revealed that 22H2, an updated version of Microsoft's Windows 11 feature, would be widely available sometime in September or October. The Microsoft blog revealed in May that Build 22621 was chosen as the RTM candidate for Windows 11 22H2 (Sun Valley 2).

Users running the original version of Windows 11 21H2 will be able to upgrade seamlessly to Windows 11 22H2 because the system requirements have not changed. In terms of functionality, Windows 11 22H2 will restore the much anticipated "drag and drop" support for the taskbar. It has also redesigned the task manager, which will use WinUI and Fluent Design, including Mica and Acrylic materials.
