CTOnews.com learned that in 2016, Chinese astronauts tried to grow vegetables in space for the first time, planting nine lettuce in Tiangong-2 laboratory. When we arrived at Shenzhou 14, we finally ate space lettuce directly. Progress has been made in water conservation, ventilation and slow-release fertilizer, and astronauts only need to spend 10 minutes a day to deal with it.

In addition, other plants on the Chinese space station are also in good condition. On August 29, a briefing on the phased progress of the space application of manned space engineering and the higher plant culture experiment of the space station was held at the Space Tencent App Center and Molecular Plant Center of Excellence of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

According to reports, up to now, the payload of the test module is in good condition and working stably, and the scientific experiment project launched with the module is carried out in orbit as planned. The experimental unit containing Arabidopsis thaliana seeds and rice seeds has been installed by the astronauts into the general experimental module of life ecology in the experimental module, and the plants have germinated and grown at present.
