CTOnews.com, September 14 (Xinhua) according to the Adobe emoji trend report 2022, the five most popular emoticons in the United States include 😂 (tears of joy), 👍 (thumbs up), ❤️ (hearts), 🤣 (smiling faces rolling on the ground) and 😢 (crying faces).

In addition, 💩 (pile of poop), 😠 (angry face) and 😳 (blushing face) were the least popular Emoji emoticons used by respondents, and the results varied from state to state.
CTOnews.com learned that Adobe surveyed 5000 emoji users and 91 per cent said they used emoticons to "lighten the atmosphere of the conversation". Seventy-three percent said people who used emoticons were "friendlier, more interesting and cooler" than those who did not, and half of the respondents said they were more likely to reply if the message included emoticons.
Seventy-one percent said emoticons are an "important conversation tool" for mutual understanding, while 75 percent said they "feel closer" to people who use emoticons. 71% of users use emoticons at work, and 68% like people to use emoticons at work.
Among emoji users, 75% send at least 50 emoticons in online messages every day, and most emoticons are sent via text messages.
