According to the Blue Book, since 2021, 5 new commercial nuclear power units have been put into operation and 9 new nuclear power units have been started, among which the independent third generation nuclear power "Hualong No.1" has entered the batch construction stage. China's nuclear power units have maintained safe and stable operation for a long time, and the installed capacity of units under construction in China has continuously maintained the first place in the world.

By the end of August 2022, there were 53 commercial nuclear power units in operation in China with a total installed capacity of 55.59 million kilowatts, and 23 nuclear power units under construction with a total installed capacity of 24.19 million kilowatts. It is worth mentioning that nuclear power generation accounts for about 5% of China's current power structure, a significant increase from about 2% a decade ago.

In terms of safety, China's nuclear power level remains at the international advanced level. In 2021,34 units in China will reach full score in the comprehensive index of the World Nuclear Power Operators Association, accounting for 44% of the full score units in the world.

CTOnews.com has reported that China Nuclear Power issued an announcement saying that on September 13, after deliberation at the executive meeting of the State Council, it decided to approve Units 3 and 4 of Fujian Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Project, which have been comprehensively reviewed and included in the national plan.
