Weber telescope captured the clearest picture of Neptune in decades.

As can be seen from the picture, the photo shows the dust ring in the near-infrared spectrum. Under infrared and visible red light, Neptune doesn't look as blue as we think.

In addition, the photos show seven of Neptune's 14 confirmed satellites, including the topmost Triton Triton, as well as Galatea, Naiad, Thalassa, Despina, Proteus and Larissa. Triton looks very bright because it is covered with condensed nitrogen and reflects 70% of the sunlight.

CTOnews.com learned that Neptune is 30 times the distance between Earth and the sun, and that the chemical composition of the atmosphere is dominated by hydrogen molecules and helium. The planet is called an ice giant. In the picture, the bright spots and stripes on Neptune represent methane ice clouds.

Previously, only NASA's Voyager 2 probe flew past Neptune on August 25, 1989, and the Weber Telescope took the clearest image in decades.
