CTOnews.com learned that the "plan" proposes to coordinate and comprehensively promote the construction of charging infrastructure along the highway with the goal of meeting the charging needs of electric vehicles. By the end of 2022, the coverage rate of charging piles in the highway service area will reach 100%, entering the first echelon of the country.

In addition, the "plan" says that by the end of 2023, the charging infrastructure of 14 existing general trunk highway service areas will be completed to provide basic charging services. By the end of 2025, the charging infrastructure of expressways and ordinary provincial trunk highways will be further encrypted and optimized, and rural highways will be covered effectively along rural highways, basically forming a highway charging infrastructure network with timely and efficient charging and mass travel protection.
