CTOnews.com, September 23 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- Redpoint, a popular climbing app, has been updated for Apple's Apple Watch Ultra to integrate action button support into all climbing disciplines. Redpoint is also optimized for Apple Watch Ultra's big screen.

As a fitness tracker for bouldering and climbing, Redpoint uses air pressure sensors in Apple Watch or iPhone to track climbing routes and elevations to generate automatic climbing logs.

CTOnews.com learned that the application comes with full Apple HealthKit integration, so all climbing activities help fill the active circle, and the application supports various levels for boulder climbing, top rope climbing, sports climbing, traditional climbing, cable climbing, deepwater solo (psicobloc) and equipment climbing.

For the Apple Watch Ultra, the functions automatically assigned to the difficult Redpoint include starting a new climbing exercise, recording the difficulty of the route and the type of scale on which the route is recorded, allowing the climber to interact with the watch without having to get the climbing chalk on the watch.

Redpoint is a free app that can be downloaded from App Store, but supports in-house subscriptions. Redpoint Pro subscription plans are available monthly ($4.99), three months ($10.99) and one year ($29.99) through in-app purchases. Users can also buy the ultimate unlocked IAP for $139.99.

On Friday, Apple launched a new Apple Watch Ultra, a larger and more advanced smartwatch for athletes, explorers, swimmers and extreme sports enthusiasts. Priced at 6299 yuan, the Apple Watch Ultra comes in a silver titanium case and offers three different straps, including the Wild path Loop strap, the Alpine Loop strap and the Ocean strap.
