Vietnam FPT produces the country's first semiconductor chips

CTOnews.com Sept. 28 news, Vietnam's FPT company produced the country's first batch of semiconductor chips. FPT Semiconductor, owned by FPT, a Vietnamese technology company, launched its first semiconductor chip production line for medical devices on Wednesday as it struggles to enter the highly competitive global semiconductor industry.

FPT Semiconductor said in a statement that it aims to supply 25 million chips worldwide by 2023, with the United States and Japan as the main markets for chips. These chips will be used in everything from consumer electronics to aerospace. Demand for these chips is high due to supply chain disruptions since the outbreak.

According to public information, FPT, formerly known as The Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (referred to as FPT), is the largest information technology service company in Vietnam, and its core business focuses on providing ICT-related services.

CTOnews.com learned that the Vietnam report in 2021 showed that FPT was the 16th largest private company in Vietnam. In 2021, FPT's revenue reached 35.657 trillion dong, an increase of 19.5% over 2020, and pre-tax profit reached 6.335 trillion dong, an increase of 20.4% over 2020.

FPT is the largest communications technology company in the private sector in Vietnam, with more than 40000 employees, including 17728 technical staff, and 48 offices in 26 overseas countries. At the same time, FPT Group is in a leading position in Vietnam's software export, system integration, software development, information technology services and other business areas.

The competence of the FPT Group has been recognized by more than 700 major companies around the world, as confirmed by the customer list of more than 600 major companies around the world, of which 100 are listed in the Global Fortune 500: Toshiba, Hitachi, Nissen, Deutsche Bank, Unilever, Panasonic and so on.
