CTOnews.com, September 28, according to CCTV News and other reports, the Ukrainian cabinet approved the decision of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine on the establishment of a network of electric vehicle charging stations by the Ukrainian State Nuclear Power Company (Energoatom) throughout Ukraine. It is reported that Ukraine will create the network of charging stations within two years.

CTOnews.com was informed that Energoatom, the Ukrainian state nuclear power company, plans to create a network of 120 car charging stations: 40 high capacity (160 + kW) and 80 medium capacity (60 + kW), respectively, to be deployed in Ukraine's regional centres and on major highways.

Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko said, "Energoatom has a huge reserve capacity for the safe production of cheap and clean electricity. As a result of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the crisis in the fuel market, the demand for electric vehicles is increasing rapidly. In today's Ukraine, with hybrid cars, the number of electric vehicles exceeds 100000. The establishment of a national charging station infrastructure will promote not only the popularity of private electric transport, but also the development of new services using electric vehicles, such as in the areas of delivery and logistics. At the same time, the development of electricity transport and related infrastructure means reducing Ukraine's dependence on fossil fuels, reducing the release of harmful substances into the atmosphere and improving the overall environmental situation. "

Sales of electric vehicles reached 6.6 million in 2021, according to the International Energy Agency's IEA. "by 2030, every two cars sold in the United States, the European Union and China are likely to be electric vehicles," said Fatih Birol, president of IEA.
