Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, September 29, the iOS version of Microsoft's SwiftKey keyboard input method has not been updated for more than a year. Today, foreign media ZDNet contacted Microsoft officials and got a response that the company will remove SwiftKey from Apple's App Store early next month.
Microsoft said it would remove SwiftKey from Apple's App Store as soon as October 5, with the following statement:
From October 5, support for the SwiftKey iOS version will end and will be removed from Apple's App Store. Microsoft will continue to support the SwiftKey Android version and the underlying technology that supports Windows touch keyboards. For those iPhone users who have SwiftKey installed, the input method will continue to work until it is manually uninstalled or the user obtains a new device.
The official SwiftKey support website also confirms this claim, saying that Microsoft will end its support for SwiftKey on iOS and remove it from App Store on October 5, 2022.
CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft did not disclose the specific reasons for its removal. Foreign media ZDNet speculated that the decision may have something to do with Apple's reluctance to allow developers to access specific parts of iOS. Many users think that third-party keyboards on iOS have been mediocre since 2014.
Foreign media Neowin also made a tombstone talk map, and the iOS version of SwiftKey was also cut by Microsoft.
