Team Ninja: no objection to outsourcing the new work of Ninja Dragon Sword
CTOnews.com, September 29 (Xinhua)-- Foreign media VGC recently interviewed Fumihiko Yasuda, the producer of the Team Ninja game team, and asked him if he would consider outsourcing the new Ninja Dragon Sword game to another studio, or handing over IP to a younger internal team.
Fumihiko Yasuda replied: "We haven't announced anything, but both ideas sound like great plans and are possible in a sense. These are very reasonable ideas for any series of sequels, not just the Legend of the Ninja Dragon Sword."
"but what I want to say is that if we are theoretically working with another company to develop a new Ninja Dragon Sword, we need to make sure it is a game that fans really like and exceed their expectations. all the parts need to be appropriate, either an internal young team or another company that is really suitable for the Ninja Dragon Sword pedigree."
CTOnews.com learned that in an earlier interview with VGC in January 2021, Fumihiko Yasuda revealed that there were no plans for a new series of Ninja Dragon Sword series, but he reiterated his hope to return to the series one day.
However, Team Ninja already has two projects in the works. The high-profile Wolong: the fall of the Heaven is set in the Central Plains at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, bringing the elegant and smart experience of Chinese martial arts, which will be released in early 2023.
Another version, "Rise of the Ronin", will be released exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console in 2024. The story takes place at the end of the 300-year-old Edo period in Japan, often referred to as the end of the curtain, in which the player will play a ronin and become a warrior without any domination or bondage.
