CTOnews.com, September 29, according to the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology, the first World Association of Top scientists Award was officially announced in Shanghai, China, on September 29, 2022.

Michael I. Jordan, an American computer science and statistician, won the "Intelligent Science or Mathematics Award" for his "fundamental contribution to the theoretical basis and application of machine learning", while the German biochemist Dirk G ö rlich won the "Life Science or Medicine Award" for his "key discovery of the mechanism and selectivity of protein transport between cytoplasm and nucleus".

The prize for each individual award is 10 million yuan, and the two winners will come to Shanghai to attend the award ceremony in early November this year.

CTOnews.com learned that the awards of the world's top scientists are awarded once a year, and the "Intelligent Science or Mathematics Award" and "Life Science or Medicine Award" are currently set up, with a single prize amount of 10 million yuan, making it one of the highest scientific awards in the world. The award is sponsored by the World Association of Top scientists, sponsored by the Shanghai Foundation for the Development of World Top scientists, selected for global scientists and exclusively donated by Sequoia Capital China.
