New Progress in the Construction of Hu-Su-Hu Railway: opening and erection of Trans-Provincial Box girders of Qingpu Bridge

During the National Day, the Qingpu extra-large bridge girder of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Lake Railway has entered Shanghai from Suzhou, officially opening the cross-provincial box girder erection of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Lake Railway.
The Qingpu Bridge Section of Hu-Su-Hu Railway is located on Yuandang Lake at the junction of Shanghai and Jiangsu, with a construction length of 5.25 km. At present, an average of 3 box girders are erected every day from Wujiang, Suzhou to Qingpu, Shanghai, and all girders across Yuandang Lake are expected to be completed in late October.
In addition, as an important and difficult control project of the whole Hu-Su-Hu railway, the cable-stayed bridge across Xietang Channel located in Songjiang in Shanghai has recently completed the hoisting of the first steel beam, the roof of the main tower and other major joints. This is the first bilateral box-steel composite girder four-line ballastless track cable-stayed bridge with the same bridge of high-speed railway and general high-speed railway in China. it has the characteristics of large live load, large eccentric load and complex load variation, and has high requirements for the alignment and stress state of the main beam.
At present, Jiangsu and Zhejiang sections of Hu-Su-Hu Railway have entered the prefabricated erection stage of box girders, and it is expected that the erection of box girders will be completed by the end of March next year.
CTOnews.com learned that the Hu-Su-Hu Railway starts from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, passes through Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, and ends at Huzhou Station in Zhejiang Province. The main line is about 163.8 kilometers long and has a design speed of 350km per hour. There are eight stations in Shanghai, including Hongqiao, Songjiang South, Liantang, Fenhu, Shengze, Nanxun, East Huzhou and Huzhou.
When the Shanghai-Suzhou-Lake Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will become an important railway transport channel connecting Shanghai, Suzhou, Huzhou and other cities, which can not only share the traffic pressure of Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou passageways, but also facilitate the contact between cities such as Xishui, Liyang, Yixing and Shanghai, which is of great significance in promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the economic and social development of southern Jiangsu.
