CTOnews.com October 9 news, the Australian Federal Chamber of Automobile Industry (Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries) CEO Tony Weber (Tony Weber) said: "the market is clearly inclined to zero emission technology."

This is the first time that the FIA has recognized the status of new energy vehicles, which has long been bullish on electric vehicles because Toyota has always been dominant in the association. Although Ford and Toyota have temporarily outsold Tesla, there are signs of a future for electric cars.

So far this year, the market share of electric vehicles in the entire Australian car market has been very low-2.7%. However, the September data sent a clear signal to the market that electric cars are beginning to appear on the stage of history.

Of the nearly 1 million new cars in Australia this month, electric vehicles accounted for 7.7 per cent, with sales of 4616 light hybrid models, down 33.7 per cent from September 2021, and 525 plug-in models, up 74.4 per cent from a year earlier.

CTOnews.com learned that Tesla delivered 5969 vehicles in Australia in September, almost double his previous best and ranked seventh on the list.

Last month, Model Y became Australia's best-selling SUV with 4359 deliveries, ranking third in total new car sales, overtaken only by Toyota Hilux (5170) and Ford Ranger (4890) and is expected to overtake in the coming months.

It is worth mentioning that more than 60 per cent of all electric cars sold in Australia are Tesla, which bears some resemblance to the US electric car market.

Analysts expect BYD's Atto 3 (yuan Plus) and MG ZS EV to be second and third in the electric car race, second only to Tesla, but far ahead of their competitors. However, MG delivery actually began in mid-to-late September, so the number in the third quarter will be very low.

In addition, there are some luxury models that also have good Q3 performance, such as:

Polar Star 2 (Polestar 2)-85

Mercedes-Benz EQB-82

BMW iX-70

Kia EV6-60

Volvo XC40 Recharge-49

Raines GV60-46

Porsche Taycan- 27

BMW i4-21

Nissan LEAF-16

Audi e-tron-13

Mercedes-Benz EQS-11
