CTOnews.com, Oct. 10, according to the latest DSCC report, due to the slowing growth of IT applications and the rapid decline of smartphones as mainstream apps, OLED panel revenue is expected to decline 4% year-on-year to $40.3 billion (about 287.339 billion yuan) in 2022.

Shipments and revenues of mainstream apps such as smartphones, smartwatches and televisions declined year on year in 2022, the report said. But in addition to laptops, OLED monitors, tablets, game application screens, in-car displays, AR / VR and other emerging applications are expected to have positive annual growth rates in shipments and revenue.

CTOnews.com has learned that DSCC says smartphones will remain the dominant app in 2022, with 75 per cent of the market share of shipments and 77 per cent of revenue. The share of smartphone shipments is expected to fall to 74% and revenue share to 73% in 2023.

In addition, due to revenue from monitors, laptops, tablets, in-car displays and AR / VR, DSCC expects smartphone unit share to fall to 74% in 2023, revenue share to 73%, and laptops to overtake smartwatches as the second-largest application.
