On the afternoon of October 12, byte-beating internal emails showed that the company had begun a new round of employee option buybacks at $155 a share. This price is about 9% higher than the previous round of repo prices.

Employees who have left as a result of recent business adjustments can also participate in the buyback at the same price as current employees, according to people familiar with the matter.

According to previous reports, byte jump has provided employees with option buyback opportunities every year since 2017. The last two buybacks took place in October 2021 and April 2022 at $132 per share and $142 per share, respectively. Repo prices have been rising steadily.

According to a recent financial report shared with employees, byte jump made an operating loss of $7.15 billion in 2021, 3.34 times that of 2020.

At the end of August this year, at the employee face-to-face event held within Byte Jump, Byte Jump CFO said that there was no specific listing plan and no listing timetable at present. In the view of some byte jump employees, since the company has no plans to go public in the short term, a stable option buyback mechanism will help to meet the cash needs.
