Microsoft Win11 Beta Preview Build 22623.746 has been released, allowing pallet icons to be rearranged

Microsoft said in a blog post that Build 22623.746 enables new feature launches by default, and Build 22621.746 disables new features by default.

In 22623.746, Microsoft brings new improvements to testers who enable the new taskbar and system tray experience, supporting the rearrangement of icons in the system tray. The new system tray experience tested from build 22623.730 had issues that prevented the feature from working, which also caused the feature not to make it into the initial version of Windows 11 22H2.

Microsoft says the new system tray experience is still evolving, so there may still be some issues.

CTOnews.com understands that in addition to this change, Windows 11 build 22623.746 also comes with a number of fix updates. For users of the new system tray experience who set the taskbar to auto-hide, the taskbar no longer disappears when right-clicking on an icon in the system tray. For those testing the new tablet-optimized taskbar, Microsoft also fixed an issue that caused touch gestures that open the Start menu to likely not follow the finger.
