CTOnews.com October 17, Wine is a compatibility layer that allows users to run thousands of Windows applications and games on Linux and macOS systems. Now that Wine 7.19 is released, one of the most dramatic changes is support for VKD3D 1.5 to update support for Vulkan Direct3D 12. VKD3D 1.5 updates support for the HLSL shading language, as well as a variety of other improvements.

In addition to VKD3D 1.5 support, Wine 7.19 also adds support for MPEG-4 audio formats and various other changes.

The following is the update:

-support storing DOS attributes on disk.

-upgrade the bundled vkd3d to version 1.5.

-MPEG-4 audio format is supported.

-various bug fixes.
