Apple's 2022 Apple TV 4K box does not contain Siri remote control USB-C charging cord (except Brazil) and needs to be purchased separately
CTOnews.com, Oct. 19 (Xinhua)-- Apple today launched the 2022 new Apple TV 4K, which shipped without the charging cord for the Siri remote control, forcing users to buy it separately. Previous Apple TV models included a Lightning line in the box to charge the remote control.
The new version of the Siri remote announced today is equipped with a USB-C port for charging instead of Lightning, but there is no USB-C cable in the box of the new Apple TV 4K. Apple also no longer comes with a charging cord when it buys an Siri remote control separately for $59 in an online store.
Apple today began selling a 1-meter-long USB-C cable with a braided design for $19.
Apple has previously stopped giving chargers to iPhone 12 or newer models and advertised itself for environmental protection. However, iPhone still ships with a Lightning-to-USB-C cable so that the device can at least be recharged with an Mac or other device, while the Siri remote control no longer comes with any charging accessories.
The new Apple TV 4K will be available for order today and will be available in the United States and more than 30 other countries on Friday, November 4. CTOnews.com learned that the device's main new features include the A15 bionic chip, which supports HDR10+, starting at $129, the highest 128GB storage space, a thinner and lighter fanless design, and a newer Siri remote control.
It is important to note that Apple's new Apple TV 4K package still includes a charging cable in Brazil, which fined Apple for not including a charger on its iPhone 12 and 13 phones.
