Microsoft and OpenAI hold in-depth negotiations on capital increase by adding artificial intelligence.

CTOnews.com, Oct. 21, according to the Wall Street Journal, people familiar with the matter revealed that Microsoft is in late-stage negotiations on a new round of investment in OpenAI. At present, Microsoft is seeking to further adopt artificial intelligence in its products.

The two sides have not yet reached an agreement and the amount of investment is likely to change with the progress of the negotiations, the person familiar with the matter said. People familiar with the matter said the two companies had held talks in recent weeks.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft invested $1 billion (about 7.23 billion yuan) in OpenAI in 2019. At that time, the two sides also reached a multi-year cooperation agreement to develop artificial intelligence supercomputing technology on Microsoft's Azure cloud computing service platform.

In May this year, OpenAI announced the OpenAI Venture Fund, through which it will invest US $100 million (about 723 million yuan) in AI. The fund is managed by OpenAI and invested by Microsoft and other OpenAI partners.
