CTOnews.com, October 22 (Xinhua)-- during this week's Adobe MAX 2022 Creative Conference, Nikon exhibited the Nikon Z9, which is specially equipped with content authenticity Initiative (CAI) technology, according to Nikon's official release.

CTOnews.com learned that Nikon said the feature complies with the standards of the Alliance for content sources and authenticity (C2PA), an open technical standards body that develops technical standards for authenticating the source and origin of digital content to combat image forgery and unauthorized use.

According to reports, in recent years, misinformation, plagiarism and copyright infringement have increased, all of which can be attributed to image forgery and unauthorized use. In October 2021, Nikon became a camera manufacturer that joined CAI and C2PA.

Currently, Nikon is developing a feature that allows you to confirm the authenticity of an image through additional information, including the source and origin of the image. The promotion of image forgery and unauthorized use detection as well as authenticity checking will help to prevent image abuse. Nikon will further develop image source functions to solve problems related to forgery and unauthorized use of images.

It is important to note that Nikon said the purpose of the exhibition is to announce that the image source function is currently under development. The use of Nikon Z9 in this exhibition does not mean or imply that the model will be equipped with this function in the future.
