Omdia: the price of LCD TV Open Cell begins to rise after falling for 15 consecutive months, and the TV panel market is expected to pick up.
CTOnews.com October 24 news, today, Omdia released a report that the Open Cell price of LCD TV has been on a downward trend since August 2021, the demand for TV panels has decreased, and the actual sales of TV brands and OEM manufacturers have been weak. By October 2022, the Open Cell price of LCD TVs had fallen for 15 months in a row.
CTOnews.com learned that Omdia said September 2022 will be the last month of the LCD TV Open Cell price reduction cycle. Since October, panel manufacturers have strongly demanded higher prices, otherwise they will not accept orders.
The report points out that more and more TV brands and OEM manufacturers have accepted price increase requests. In the end, prices rose not only for smaller sizes, but also for products of almost all sizes, including 32-inch, 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch products.
Before increasing the production line movement rate, the price increase goal of panel manufacturers is to ensure that the sales price is higher than the cash cost. According to Omdia judgment, most LCD TV brands and OEM manufacturers will have to accept price increases. Accepting panel price increases is the only way to secure the supply of TV panels they need, especially during periods of low production line growth.
