Apple stopped placing gambling ads on the App Store list page after being heavily criticized by developers and users

CTOnews.com, October 27 (Xinhua)-- Apple suspended gambling-related ads on its App Store list after developers and App Store users complained about the frequency of gambling ads.

On Tuesday, app developers posted comments on social media, expressing concern about the frequent emergence of gambling apps in the ads on Apple's new App Store store app list. Perhaps in response to feedback, Apple has deleted ads related to gambling.

An Apple spokesman made the following statement.

We have suspended advertisements related to gambling and other categories on the App Store product page.

Gambling apps account for a large proportion of Apple's new ad space, with some users reporting that they see up to 30% of advertising time for gambling apps.

These ads appear next to apps for children and even on the pages of the gambling addiction rehabilitation app.

CTOnews.com learned that promoting gambling apps is very controversial. These apps allow players to gamble in casino-like games, including 21:00, poker, roulette, etc. In addition, many of these apps tell users that they can cash their winnings through PayPal, Apple Pay or prepaid debit cards.

Many people criticized Apple for allowing these ads in the first place, saying they deviated from the vision of customer supremacy.

A spot check on Wednesday night showed that there were at least moderately relevant app ads on the App Store list, but there was no sign of gambling apps.

"developers complain that there are a large number of gambling ads in their App Store list and are out of control, and criticize Apple for being too greedy! "

"Apple App Store begins to show more ads: cover the" Today "home page and the" you might like it "section, and the national area will not be affected for the time being.
