CTOnews.com, October 30 (Xinhua)-- according to the latest DSCC report, the number of collapsible panels shipped in the fourth quarter of 2022 was expected to be 5.4 million, but now the possible result is 2.9 million, a decrease of 46%.

Shipments of collapsible panels are expected to fall 54% month-on-month and 26% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2022, according to the report. Sales of Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 have slowed accordingly. The iPhone 14 series took away some of the attention and sales, while the $1799 price of the Z Fold 4 is still too high in the current economic environment.

CTOnews.com learned that DSCC said Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are expected to decline year-on-year in the fourth quarter compared with the previous generation, but rose year-on-year in the third quarter, so there was still relative growth for the whole of 2022.

In addition, due to the weak overall market demand in the fourth quarter of 2022, DSCC believes that shipments of collapsible panels in 2022 are 15% lower than the previous forecast of 17.7 million, and are expected to reach 1500 million. DSCC also expects shipments of foldable smartphone terminals to reach 13.2 million, up from 15.3 million.
