CTOnews.com, October 31 (Xinhua)-- the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Solar Dynamics Observatory) has successfully captured an interesting picture of the sun with a smiling face on it.

"under ultraviolet light, these dark spots on the sun are called coronal holes and are areas where solar wind flows rapidly into space," NASA tweeted. Many Twitter users said the image looked like a pumpkin carved on Halloween, and some even mentioned "Teletubbies."

CTOnews.com learned that this is not the first time a telescope has captured a strange image of the sun, and in 2016, NASA released an animation of the sun doing a somersault. This picture comes from the Solar Dynamics Observatory's annual seven-hour maneuver to accurately measure the edges of stars, so instead of a solar somersault, the telescope moved.
