CTOnews.com October 31, Huawei Terminal announced that it will upgrade its folding screen phone Mate Xs 2 to support Beidou Satellite News at the 2022 Huawei developer Conference on November 5.

Huawei released a series of Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro phones early last month. The new phone is equipped with satellite news, a technology that "pokes the sky up". It is the world's first mass smartphone to support Beidou satellite messages.

CTOnews.com has learned that this function can break through the limitations of the ground network and keep in touch with the outside world by sending messages through the "Beidou Satellite message" service in the App without the coverage of the ground network. At present, this function is limited to Chinese mainland region and does not include Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

It is worth mentioning that Mate Xs 2 users can now sign up for public testing through Huawei's official channels and experience it in advance.
