CTOnews.com, Nov. 1 (Xinhua)-- Apple plans to include several 2013 and 2014 iMac models as discontinued products (obsolete product) by the end of this month, according to a memo obtained by MacRumors.

Apple said in the memo that the 21.5-inch and 27-inch iMac at the end of 2013, the 21.5-inch iMac in mid-2014, and the Retina 5K 27-inch iMac at the end of 2014 will be marked as discontinued products on November 30, 2022, and these iMac will not have access to any maintenance or services.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple's website periodically lists obsolete and discontinued products (vintage and obsolete products), which refer to products that have been out of date for more than five years but less than seven years since the end of sale. Apple is required by law to provide services and parts for obsolete products for up to seven years, but maintenance depends on the availability of parts. The devices on the discontinued product list are products that Apple has stopped selling for more than seven years. Apple will stop all hardware services for obsolete products, and service providers will not be able to order parts for obsolete products.
